Chip pre-separator

The chip pre-separator from KÖBO ECO>PROCESS GmbH as a component of standard cooling lubricant filtration systems

Chip pre-separators retain coarse chips and/or large quantities of chips and sludge from the production process in order to protect the downstream filter systems from overloading.

The separated chips are conveyed via a chain conveyor to the chip discharge and discharged. The pre-cleaned cooling lubricant is fed to the next filtration stage.

Structure
  • Rectangular steel tank with a special chain conveyor system for chip discharge
  • Functional addition of additional slotted screen surfaces or overflows possible
  • Pre-separation of coarse particles by sedimentation
  • Chip discharge by means of scraper conveyor
  • Pre-separation of chips also possible without sedimentation via a slotted screen surface on the floor (especially for light, possibly floating chips or in very confined spaces)
  • Operating modes and functional design are variable
  • Additional separation or protection via a vertical slotted screen surface upstream of the pump intake
  • The pre-cleaned cooling lubricant is fed to the subsequent filtration stage
  • The cooling lubricant drain to the filter systems can take place on a free fall
  • Alternatively, the coolant can be extracted from the chip pre-separators using pumps and fed into the filter systems

  • Coarser chips
  • Pre-separation of large quantities of chips in the coolant
  • Upstream of belt filter or backwash filter systems, for large quantities of chips in the cooling lubricant
  • Primarily used for the filtration of cooling lubricants (emulsions or oils) for cutting operations
  • Relieves the downstream filter systems by massively reducing the amount of chips in the cooling lubricant
  • VAS container can also be used as a coolant storage volume
  • Degree of separation [µm]: > 250
  • Size of slotted screen surface [m²]: 0 - 8.0
  • Throughput* [l/min]: 1,000 - 20,000
