Cleaning of cooling lubricants is very important for the planning of production facilities. A clean filtrate guarantees a better surface quality of work pieces as well as a longer service life for tools and cooling lubricants. During many machining processes, a standard filtration down to a particle size of 30 µ is sufficient.
In the course of this method, large volume flows can be cleaned. Commonly, pressure belt filters (PBF) or vacuum belt filters (VBF) are applied. Operation works by using circulating filter belts or by using nonwoven fabric as a filter medium. Pressure belt filters can be also performed with reversing filter media.
